Lyle and Tiffany Chapman Lyle and Tiffany Chapman's dream of opening a restaurant became a reality in 2003. The couple purchased an abandoned restaurant and marina and together remodeled the restaurant and marina into The Sportsman Restaurant and Marina, keeping the original name for nostaglia reasons. The Chapmans focused their attention first to the marina and then the restaurant. The restaurant officially opened on August 15, 2003. Lyle was raised in Altavista, VA and spent many summers on the lake with his family. Tiffany was raised in Hot Springs, VA. He graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina and Tiffany graduated from Radford University. The couple met on the lake and was married on September 22, 2005 in Jamaica. Lyle and Tiffany both have experience in the restaurant business before opening the Sportsman. Tiffany worked for the Homestead Resort and Lyle previously owned The Bridge Club. The owners have been hands-on in the daily operation of their business and have continued to be successful in operating a restaurant and marina for the past 4 years. |
